The fibres of the locking fleece allow the membrane to form a full mechanical bond with the concrete. This stops water tracking between the membrane and the structure when placed below the new raft or against permanent or temporary timber wall formwork. The hydrophilic coating expands when it comes in contact with water. This allows it to seal small holes that may be formed during construction. This self-healing property deals with accidental punctures, providing peace of mind. Newton 403 Hydrobond – External Waterproofing Membrane can be used with other Newton products in order to waterproof a whole structure. Once correctly installed, it provides complete protection for the life of the building against water ingress. This includes the deck, through construction joints, through and around service entries and to movement joints.
